Spinning text effect

In this tutorial you will learn how to create a spinning text effect in Flash. The spinning text effect is when the text is spinning towards the screen. This effect is simple to create and uses motion tweens for the spinning text. I have also used a knocked out text effect on the spining text.

Spinning text effect

Step 1

Open a new Flash document. Select the Text tool with Static text, and type you text message on the stage. I have used Arial black font with a knocked out text effect, but you can use whatever font type you wish.

Step 2

Convert your text into a symbol by selecting F8. Give your symbol an appropriate name, check movie clip and click ok.

Step 3

On the timeline insert a key frame at frame 20 by pressing F6 as shown below:

Now select the 1st frame and then select Modify > Transform > Flip horizontal. You text should be flipped horizontally like below:

Select the Free Transform Tool (Q) and decrease the size of text until it’s barely legible.
On the timeline right click anywhere in between the 1st and 20th frame and select 'create motion tween'. If you are using Flash CS4 then select 'Classic tween'.

Step 4

Test your movie clip Ctrl + enter.

You should now have a spinning text effect.
