Spinning text effect

This Flash tutorial will teach you how to create a spinning text effect. This effect is very simple and requires motion tweens. I have used a knocked out text effect for the spining text.

Spinning text effect

Step 1

Open a new flash document. Select the text tool (t) and type you text on the stage. I used Arial black font with knocked out text effect. You can use whatever font you wish.

Step 2

Convert your text into a symbol by selecting F8. Give your symbol an appropriate name, check movie clip and click ok.

Step 3

On the timeline insert a key frame at frame 20 by pressing F6.

Now select the 1st frame and select Modify > Transform > Flip horizontal. You text should be flipped horizontally.

Select the free transform tool (q) and decrease the size of text until it’s barely legible.
On the timeline right click anywhere in between the 1st and 20th frame and select create motion tween.

Step 4

Test your movie clip Ctrl + enter.

You should now have a spinning text effect
